DHAKA, Oct 19, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Women's team will take on Sri Lanka in their sixth game of the ICC Cricket World Cup tomorrow (Monday) Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
The match starts at 3.30 PM (Bangladesh Time). T-sports will telecast the match live.
Sri Lanka are one of the two teams which Bangladesh targeted for victory in the World Cup (WC).
They have already fulfilled their first target by beating Pakistan by seven wickets in their World Cup opening game after which they lost four straight matches to be eliminated from the semifinal race.
But the Tigresses put up a huge resistance against England and South African Women's and with some luck they even could have won those two matches.
However, they were completely thrashed by New Zealand and Australia in other two matches. While they tasted a 100-run defeat to New Zealand, against Australia, they had a meek surrender, losing the game by 10 wickets.
They in fact will take on Sri Lanka when the thrashing at the hands of Australia is still fresh.
But the Bangladesh Women's team believes that the outcome in the match against Australia won't make them morally down.
"I think we are better than the result which we produced against Australia," Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty said, adding that they believe they learned much from the crushing defeat.
"We had learnt from here (from the defeat against Australia). We'll face off Sri Lanka and want to put out our best."
While Bangladesh have the experience to beat Sri Lanka in T20 Internationals, they are yet to beat them in the ODI format.
The two teams, so far, met three times in ODI format with Sri Lanka winning two while the other match was washed out.
But Bangladesh wanted to break this jinx in tomorrow's match for their second victory and fulfilled their target completely.
