DHAKA, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS)—Despite putting up a promising batting show, Bangladesh A tasted a seven-wicket defeat to Adelaide Strikers in their sixth and last match of the Top End T20 series at DXC Arena in Darwin, Australia today.
The second string Bangladesh side, which became runners-up in the tournament in the previous season, this time exited from the group phase after winning just two in four matches.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh put up a respectable 175-4, thanks to blazing show of opener Jishan Alam and Afif Hossain.
Jishan struck 38 ball-50 with five fours and one six to cap off a successful tournament despite the side’s wayward show.
Afif who was consistent throughout the tournament, hit an unbeaten 49. He smote five fours and three sixes in an innings, spanning just 23 balls.
Yasir Ali Chowdhury gave the finishing touch with 15 ball-25 not out.
But Adelaide made the mockery of Bangladesh A bowling, largely thanks to opener Mackenzie Harvey who smashed an unbeaten 102 off 53, studded with 14 fours and one six.
His innings knocked off the target in 18.1 overs, guiding the side to 179-3. His fellow opener Jake Winter made run-a-ball-35 while Harry Manenti was not out on 25.
