DHAKA, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh national cricketers will reach Sylhet this evening for the final phase of their training ahead of the upcoming Netherlands series and the Asia Cup. They are scheduled to leave Dhaka by a 7:30 pm flight.
A BCB official said the main part of the training will be conducted in Sylhet.
So far, the cricketers have undergone fitness drills in Dhaka, including a 1600-meter time trial, gym work, running, acrobatic exercises, and skill training.
Since the Mirpur pitch is considered sluggish and not ideal for Asia Cup preparation in the UAE, the BCB chose Sylhet as the training venue. For the same reason, the three-match T20 International series against the Netherlands has also been scheduled in Sylhet.
The Netherlands are set to arrive in Bangladesh on August 26. The T20Is will be held on August 30, September 1 and September 3 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Following the series, Bangladesh will travel to the UAE for the Asia Cup.
Bangladesh are yet to announce the squad for the Netherlands series. Selectors will use the Sylhet training phase to finalize the team.
Bangladesh's preliminary T20 squad: Liton Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Naim Sheikh, Soumya Sarkar, Parvez Hossain Emon, Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shamim Patwari, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Tanvir Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nahid Rana, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mahidul Islam Ankon and Saif Hasan.
