DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS)—The Bangladesh Under-19 team returned home today after a triumphant African tour.
During their month long tour in Africa, the Bangladesh youngsters won the youth ODI series against the hosts in South Africa followed by the tri-nation tournament triumph in Zimbabwe.
BCB Head of Game Development Habibul Bashar Sumon greeted the squad on its arrival in Dhaka.
The Under-19 team narrowly missed a series sweep in the South Africa as they won the four-match series by 3-1.
After winning first three matches by more than 100-run margin, they suffered a defeat in the fourth youth ODI, largely due to the inclement weather. In that rain-interrupted game, they conceded 14-run defeat on DLS method.
They continued the same domination in tri-nation series, a tournament that also involved South Africa and hosts Zimbabwe.
They lost just one match, out of six in group phase, that too at the hands of South Africa. However, they beat South Africa by 33 runs in the final to win the trophy eventually.
The highly successful African tour is believed to give them a huge boost ahead of the World Cup journey next year.
