DHAKA, Aug 10, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held its 20th
Board of Directors meeting at its headquarters in Sher-e-Bangla National
Cricket Stadium, Mirpur on Saturday.
The board had taken several important decisions in the marathon six-hour long
meeting. BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul who is in Australia now joined the
meeting virtually.
At the beginning, the managers of the 25 departments of the BCB gave 10-
minute presentations on the current situation, progress and future plans of
their departments.
Later, the main discussion began.
The decisions taken in the board meeting:
The BCB took a decision to build a new house for celebrated female footballer
Rituparna Chakma.
The sports management selection process for the Bangladesh Premier League
(BPL) is underway. Everything will be finalized within the next three days.
Mymensingh Division will replace Dhaka Metro in the next NCL.
Sixteen practice pitches and other facilities will be built in Rajshahi for
BPL.
Eight practice pitches and two center wickets will be built in Barisal.
The BCB will prepare matches and practice wickets at Bandarban Stadium.
Appointment of Tony Hemming as Head of Turf Management on a two-year
contract.
Appointment of consultant from ICC to revamp the board's anti-corruption unit
A five-year agreement with the Tourism Board for cricket tourism.
Approval of budget for Bangladesh-Netherlands series and permission to invite
tenders for the sale of sponsors and TV rights.
Approval of financial assistance to former cricketers, organizers.
