DHAKA, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS) - Confident Bangladesh team will look to extend their winning streak as they take on Timor-Leste in their second Group H match of the AFC Under-20 Women's Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, scheduled to be held at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane this afternoon (Friday).
The match will kick off at 3:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time. In the other game of the group, hosts Laos will face South Korea at 6:00pm at the same venue.
Bangladesh began their campaign in style with a 3-1 victory over host Laos, thanks to a brace from prolific striker Mst Sagorika. Head coach Peter Butler will be expecting a similar performance from his key forward in today's match.
Timor-Leste, on the other hand, suffered a crushing 9-0 defeat against tournament favourites South Korea in their opening match. They now face a must-win situation to stay alive in the qualification race.
Bangladesh will play their final group match against South Korea on August 10.
A total of 32 teams, split into eight groups, are competing in the round-robin qualifiers. The eight group winners and the three best runners-up will advance to the final round, joining hosts Thailand in April 2026.
