DHAKA, Aug 02, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Under-19 team moved to the final of the tri-nation series after beating hosts Zimbabwe by eight wickets in their fourth match in the group phase at Harare Sports Club on Friday.
They will take on South Africa in the final, scheduled to be held on August 10.
Both South Africa and Bangladesh have so far won three matches while the other team of the tournament Zimbabwe remained winless after playing four matches. Before the final, these three teams will play two more matches.
Being sent to bat first, Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 89 in 22.3 overs with opener Nathaniel Halbangana scoring highest 26. Brandon Ndiweni was the other notable scorer with 20.
Pacer Iqbal Hossain Emon scalped 4-27 to rip through Zimbabwe batting. Sanjid Mojumder complemented Emon’s job with 2-26.
Captain Azizul Hakim led the charge with 47 not out as Bangladesh reached 91-2 for a victory in the game in 15.1 overs. Rizan Hossain was on 21 when Bangladesh sealed the game.
