DHAKA, July 4, 2025 (BSS)-After qualifying in the AFC Asian Cup 2026 final stage, Bangladesh national women's football team skipper Afeida Khandakar said that she wants to see this team in the World Cup stage.
"I want to see this team to World Cup stage because this opportunity is coming to us, so we'll try to make the best use of it," said the Bangladesh captain through an audio message today (Friday).
"Our joy was indescribable when we got to know we had qualified for the final stage of Asian Cup which is the first time in the history of country's women's football. I am really overwhelmed the way the nation supported us ... it feels really good," said Afeida when wanted to know her feeling after her team qualified in the Asian Cup final stage.
She said the team's condition is in good shape and all are in cheerful mood. She also sought to all keep their support for the team.
Goalkeeper coach Masud Ahmad said the team is in good shape except for a few minor injuries and the coaching staffs are giving them recovery before the final group match.
He said they have plan to celebrate the joy after winning the last match against Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile the team completed their final training session in the morning at training field 5, ahead of their last group match.
