DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto hinted
at waiting for allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz till the last moment of the
first cricket Test against Sri Lanka, beginning tomorrow (Tuesday) at Galle
International Cricket Stadium.
Miraz is battling with a viral fever and missed the team's practice session
ahead of the Test. However, it is believed although he was declared virus-
free, he still seemed to be extremely weak.
"His (Miraz) condition is better than before but he is still under
observation," Shanto told the reporters at Galle today. "A lot of things
depend on his availability as far as the team combination is concerned."
Miraz has already proved him as the genuine allrounder like Shakib Al Hasan.
This was evidenced in the stat that he was Bangladesh's highest run-getter
(598 runs) and wicket-taker (41) in the last one year.
"His health is improving but a lot of things depend on his availability and
if he is alright we can play with a good combination," Shanto added.
