DHAKA, June 15, 2025 (BSS)-The Sri Lanka cricket today announced an 18-member
squad for the first cricket Test against Bangladesh, starting on Tuesday at
the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the side which featured Angelo Mathews and five
uncapped players in Lahiru Udara, Pasinda Sooriyabandara, Sonal Dinusha,
Pavan Ratnayake, and Isitha Wijesundara.
Mathews will retire from the Test cricket after this match.
The second and final Test will commence in Colombo on June 25.
The series will kick start the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) Cycle.
Bangladesh had finished seventh while Sri Lanka finished sixth in the last
cycle, which South Africa eventually won, beating mighty Australia by five
wickets.
