DHAKA, May 18, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh Emerging Women's team lost the three-
match T20 series to South African Emerging team after tasting an eight-wicket
defeat in the third and final match today at Cox's Bazar Academy Ground.
Bangladesh won the first match by five wickets to start the series with
winning not but defeat in the last two matches forced them to concede the
series by 2-1.
A reckless batting effort contributed in their big defeat as they were
restricted to 117-7 after being asked to bat first. South Africa overhauled
the target in 18.2 overs, reaching 121-2 with Simone Lourens making highest
40 not out.
Opener Faye Tunnicliffe made 35 and Alexandra Clare Candler scored 30 while
they added 62 runs for the opening stand to give the side a solid start.
Later Lourens helped the side win the game without any fuss.
Before her composed knock with the willow, Alexandra Candler claimed 3-22
with the bowling to rip through Bangladesh's batting line up. Delmari Tucker
took 2-19 to give her ably support.
Skipper Sharmin Akter Supta with 36 was the top-scorer for the side while
opener Rubya Haider Jhilik made 27.
Bangladesh earlier won the three-match one-day series by 2-1.
