The dedicated and hard-working athlete, born in Narail in 2004, started playing table tennis at the age of five being inspired by his mother.

In an interview with BSS, the talented athlete expressed her dream to win a gold medal for the country from the international level.

BSS: Would you please tell me about the story of your journey in table tennis?

Sadia: Honestly speaking I used to participate not only in sports but also cultural activities during my childhood. My mother got me involved in table tennis as since my childhood I used to see my father sick. You may understand the atmosphere at a home when there is a sick person. I was upset along with my elder sister after seeing my father's condition. So to overcome the frustration, my mother got me involved in table tennis and other cultural activities and that is how I was involved with table tennis.

BSS: Would please tell when you got chance to represent the national team?
Sadia: I have got the chance to represent the national team in 2015 at the age of eleven when I was studying in class five or six. I was supposed to take part in a dance competition in India. A group was supposed to go in Kolkata and I had been taking preparation accordingly. In the meantime I took part a tennis competition and finally I was selected to go abroad to participate in a tournament.

BSS: Would you please tell your national achievements?
Anser: In the national level I won three gold medals in Bangladesh Games, two in youth games. I am the last national champion and ranked as number one at this moment. I have been representing the national team for nine years. I won bronze medal in team event in South Asian Games in 2016 and also won bronze in women's doubles event in South Asian Games held 2019. I was the only woman athlete played quarterfinals in Islamic Solidarity Games held in 2022. I was also qualified for the Commonwealth Games along with other female athlete from Bangladesh. I won a bronze medal in junior South Asian Games as well.
BSS: Do you have any frustration in your mind with table tennis?

Sadia: Look, if I compare our logistic facility with the other Asian countries, I become disappointed. When I participated in South Asian Games in 2016, I saw the facilities in Pakistan, Nepal and India. At that time, we didn't have much difference with them as far as facilities are concerned. But now there is a huge gap with those countries and it really upset me, though I hope that something good will be happened in near future as everyone is trying to take the table tennis to a standard position.

BSS: Would you please tell what your dream is?
Sadia: When any player holds the national championship positions individually, then their target is to do something good internationally. I've always wanted to do something good internationally. But I haven't been able to do this in that way. I wish to hear my national anthem and I hope I can fulfill my dream. I want to win a gold medal for my country from the international tournament?
