DHAKA, Nov 30, 2024 (BSS)- Former footballer Saifur Rahman Moni elected as
the 15th executive member of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) after
defeating Chudanga District Sports Association President Ekhlas Uddin in the
BFF re-election held at BFF Bhaban on Saturday.
Moni bagged 56 votes against 51 collected by Ekhlas Uddin, chief election
commissioner Mezbah Uddin Ahmed informed the pressmen at a press conference
after the re-election.
The polls was held from 11 am to 1:00 pm where 107 out of 133 delegates
exercised their voting right to elect the last member [15-member] of the BFF
executive committee.
Two member candidates, Saifur Rahman Moni and Ekhlas Uddin, tied with 61
votes for the 15th member position during the initial BFF election held on
October 26 last.
To break the tie between both the candidates, the BFF executive committee
decided to hold a re-election in this post in their first meeting.
Moni, who contested the last two elections of the BFF, was found a smile of
relief after winning the election.
'Finally, I won in the election after the fourth attempt and all this credit
goes to my delegates ... I am really grateful to them," he said to the
pressmen.
He also expressed his high optimism to work for the development of football.
