DHAKA, May 26, 2024 (BSS)- Begum Firoze Haider, mother-in-law of Bangladesh 
Olympic Association (BOA) General Secretary Syed Shahed Reza, passed away on 
Saturday last evening due to old-age complications.

She was 86, a BOA press release said here today. 

Begum Firoze Haider, the youngest niece of Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy and wife 
of valiant freedom fighter and former Member of Parliament (MP) late Syed 
Haider Ali, left behind two sons, a daughter, grandsons, granddaughters and a 
host of well-wishers to mourn her death.

She was buried at Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard in Mirpur after a namaz-
e-janaza at Gulshan Azad Mosque today.

In a condolence message, the BOA President and Chief of Bangladesh Army 
General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP (Bar), OSP, NDU,PSC, PHD, its Director 
General, officials and employees expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death 
of Firoze Haider and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and 
conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

The bereaved family also requested all to pray for her departed soul.
