Hockey team return home

 DHAKA, Sept 5, 2023 (BSS) - The Bangladesh national team returned home today (Tuesday) from Oman after participating in the five-a-side World Cup Qualifying Hockey Tournament.

    Bangladesh Hockey Federation vice president Abdur Rashid Sikder and it's general secretary AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed greeted the ten-member hockey team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.

    Bangladesh national hockey team took part in five-a-side hockey for the first time and played much better than expectation.

    Bangladesh won three and lost four out of seven matches in the qualifying hockey tournament held in Salalah, Oman.

    Shawon and Abed scored the highest eleven goals of the team. Bangladesh scored 39 goals and conceded 60 goals in the tournament.

    Bangladesh's captain Asim Gop won the best goalkeeper award by showing his outstanding skills in the tournament. India emerged champions in the tournament.
