DHAKA, June 2, 2023 (BSS) - Holders Bashundhara Kings, came from behind, beat ten men Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 2-1 goals in the Bangladesh Premier League football held today (Friday) at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city. 

In the proceeding, Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira and forward Rakib Hossain scored one goal each for Kings who led the first half by 2-1 goals. 

Mohammedan Sporting Club, who won the title of recently concluded Federation Cup after fourteen years, however took the lead early when Nigerian forward Sunday Emmanuel scored the first goal early in the very 2nd minute of the match.
 
But, Bashundhara Kings however staged a brilliant fight back as Miguel Figueira leveled the margin in the 10th minute of the match.

Rakib Hossain sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Kings in the 40th minute of the match.

Mohammedan however tried heart and soul to stage a brilliant fight back in the match but could not score any in the remaining proceeding and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hand.

Mohammedan's Uzbekistan forward Muzaffar Muzaffarov was shown direct red card by the referee for his unsporting behavior in the match. 

With the day's win, Bashundhara Kings raised their tally to 49 points from 18 matches while the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit stand at fourth position in the league table with 23 points playing 17 matches.
