Chanderpaul, Silva lead West Indies A to 320-6 on day 1

DHAKA, May 30, 2023 (BSS)- Visiting West Indies A made a good start to the

third and final unofficial Test against Bangladesh A, reaching 320-6 on day
one at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

As many as four West Indies A batters hit half-century but none of them, so
far, converted it to the century. Raymon Reifer who was batting on 56 with
Kevin Sinclair on 22 at stumps, had the chance to reach the three figure mark
on day two.

Opener Tagnaire Chanderpaul, the son of legendary West Indies batter
Shivnarine Chanderpaul, was the top-scorer for the side, so far, with 83. He
hit nine fours and one six in his knock and kept the side rock steady despite
West Indies A lost two wickets for just one run on the board.

Shoriful Islam dismissed Kirk McKenzie for duck and Musfik Hasan removed
Zachary McCaskie for one.

Alick Athanaze hit 59 and shared 82-run with Chanderpaul to bail the side out
of danger. After Nasum got the better of Athanaze, Chandarpaul got ably
support in Captain Joshua Da Silva as they shared 132-run for the fourth
wicket to keep the side in safe position.

Nasum also removed Silva after he made 82 off 94 with 12 fours and two sixes.
Musfik then got rid of Chanderpaul but Reifer took the side in a position of
dominance.

Nasum ended the day with 3-92 while Musfik returned figures of 2-50.
