DHAKA, May 23, 2023 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed
former Bermuda international David Hemp as the head and batting coach of the
High Performance (HP) team for the next two years.
Hemp, 52, had a prolific first class career as a batsman for English County
Club Glamorgan, Free State and Warwickshire and featured in 24 internationals
for Bermuda, a BCB press release said.
He was the head coach of the Pakistan women's national team from 2020-2022.
Hemp has agreed a two-year term with the BCB which will end in June 2025.
The BCB has also hired the services of Dr. David Scott who will be the HP
Squad's Sports Psychologist. Dr Scott is an expert on behaviour change and
performance enhancement in sport.
Meanwhile, the first phase of the HP training camp for this year will begin
tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The first phase of the camp has been split into three parts with physical
screening and fitness tests scheduled in Dhaka from May 24-31.
The camp will then move to Rajshahi (June 01-08) first, followed by Bogura
(June 09-26) for skill training. In July, the HP Squad will participate in
the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
