India make flying start

DHAKA, May 13, 2023 (BSS)- India U-17 women's handball team got off to a

flying start in the third edition of four-nation Bangabandhu IHF Challenge
Trophy Women's (youth) thrashing Nepal by 47-1 goals held today (Saturday) at
Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city.

The Indian side, who are physically and tactically superior to Nepal, showed
their prowess in the very beginning and they maintained their full of
domination till end of the match in the one-sided affairs.

In the proceeding, Pradnya Balaso Mane was the highest scorer with 15 goals
for India while Sandhya Rai netted a consolation goal for Nepal.

The Indian girls, who were superior in all aspects than Nepalese girls on the
field, could not put up any resistance in front of the speed and movement
against the Indian.

Indian player Kushi got the marching order by the referee for his unsporting
behavior during the match.

After the match, India U-17 team's coach Mohid Tauheed was, however, found
happy over his girls' impressive performance against Nepal.

The winning team's coach said: "Nepal's players are relatively weak, but I am
happy with the way our girls played. Many of the girls in this team have
played in international tournaments. That experience came in handy for them.
All in all, I am happy with their performance."

He informed that this team won the prestigious Asian President's Cup in
Jordan. The coach also dreams of becoming champion in Bangladesh.
