DHAKA, March 9, 2023 (BSS)- Green Delta Insurance 1st Division Hockey League begins from Saturday (March 11) at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city with two matches are billed for the opening day.

    On the day, Dhaka Wanderars Club take Shantinagar Sporting Club in the day's first match at 1.30 pm while Usha Krira Chakra meet Rayerbazar Sporting Club at 3.30 pm in the day's second match of opening day's fixture.

    Bangladesh Hockey Federation's (BHF) long time ally Green Delta Insurance sponsored the league which will be held with the participation of twelve clubs.

    The participating clubs are Usha Krira Chakra, Railway Sporting Club, Dhaka Wanderars Club, Shishu Kishore Shangha, Hockey Dhaka United, Mukto Bihango, PWD, Farashganj Sporting Club, Bachelor Sporting Club, Shanti Nagar Sporting Club, Combined Sporting Club and Rayerbazar Sporting Club.

    In this regards, a press conference was held today (Thursday) at conference room of BHF to provide all the details of the meet.

    BHF's vice presidents Abdur Rashid Sikder and Zaki Ahmed Ripon, BHF's general secretary AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed, BHF's joint secretary Mohammad Yousuf and Kamrul Islam Kismat, league committee's secretary Haji Mohammad Humayun and officials of the BHF were also present on the occasion.
