DHAKA, Jan 20, 2023 (BSS) - The inter-district phase of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games 2023', organized by the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), continued on the fifth day (Friday) at different districts across the country.

Dhaka divisional phase swimming event was held at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex at Mirpur in the capital this morning. 

Islam of Kishoreganj emerged first in the men's 50m freestyle while Tofail of the same district finished second position. Juthi Aktar of Madaripur emerged top and Setu of Kishoreganj finished second in the women's event.

Islam of Kishoreganj emerged first in men's 100m freestyle while Enamul of the same district finished second position. Juthi Aktar of Madaripur emerged first in the women's event while Setu of Kishoreganj finished second position.

Amirul Islam Joy of Kishoreganj emerged top in the men's 200m freestyle while Islam of the same district finished second position. Farzana of Kishoreganj emerged top while Juthi Akter of Madaripur stood finished second in the women's event.

Amirul Islam Joy of Kishoreganj emerged first in men's 50m backstroke while Mobarak Hossain finished second position. Irfana Khatun of Munshiganj emerged first in the women's event while Saifa Akhter of Kishoreganj finished second position.

Amirul Islam Joy of Kishoreganj emerged first in the men's 100m backstroke while Shipon Mia finished second position. Juthi Akter of Madaripur emerged first in the women's event while Faria Akter of Munshiganj finished second position. 

Raihan of Kishoreganj emerged first in the men's 50m breaststroke while Shahidul Haque Rajan finished second position. Irfana Khatun of Munshiganj emerged first in the women's event while Saifa Akhter of Kishoreganj finished second position.

Nadimul Haque of Kishoreganj emerged first in the men's 100m breaststroke while Rakib Hossain finished second position.

Kishoreganj's Tofail emerge top in the men's in the men's 50m butterfly while Islam finished second position. Juthi Akter of Madaripur emerged top in the women's event while Pushpa Akter of Kishoreganj finished second position.

Tangail district emerged champions after beating Shariatpur district by 2-0 goal in the men's football held at Tangail District Stadium of Dhaka Division. Tangail district also retained the supremacy in the women's football defeating Faridpur district by 2-0 goals.

In Chattogram division, Chattogram district defeated Cox's Bazar district by 3-1 points in tie-baking in the final of men's chess event while champion Chattogram district team also beat Comilla district team by 3.5 - 0.5 points in tie-baking in women's event. 

In Barisal division, Nayeem Hossain Hriday of Pirojpur emerged top in the men's athletics while Zahidul Islam of Bhola finished second position. 

Mitu Akhtar of Barisal emerged top in the women's event while Swarna Akhtar Toha of Barguna district finished second position. Hasan of Bhola district emerged top in the men's 200m sprint while Ashiq of Barisal finished second position. Mitu Akhtar of Barisal emerged first in the women's event while Rupban of Bhola finished second position.

Utsha Saha of Barguna emerged top in the men's 400 sprint event while Nazmul Islam of Pirojpur finished second position. Tuli of Barguna emerged first in the women's event while Lamiya Akhter of Barisal finished second position. Yamin of Bhola district emerged top in the men's 800m race while Riyad Hossain finished second position. Hafsa of Barguna emerged top in the women's event while Rujina Razbi Roza of Barisal finished second position. Raihan Mia of Pirojpur emerged top in the men's 1500m race while Russel of Bhola district finished second position.

Anjuman Ara Oishi of Bhola district emerged top in the women's event while Rujina Rajbi Roja finished second position. Zahidul Islam of Bhola district emerged first in the men's long jump while Ashiq of Barisal district finished second. Sumaiya Akhtar of Barguna district emerged first in the women's event while Sumaiya Akhtar of Bhola district finished second position. Mahfuz Hasan of Barguna emerged first in the men's high jump while Naeem Hossain of Pirojpur finished second position.

Faria of Pirojpur district emerged top in the women's event while Sohagi Mitu of Barisal finished second position. Mostafa Khan of Pirojpur district emerged top in the men's shot put event while Hasan of Bhola district finished second position. Jannatul Ferdous of Pirojpur district emerged top in the women's event while Sumaiya Akhter Khushi of Bhola district finished second position.

Meanwhile, Khulna divisional inter-district phase athletics and swimming event begins tomorrow (Saturday) at Shaheed Abu Naser Stadium in Khuna.
Athletes from five districts -- Bagerhat, Jessore, Jhenaidah, Magura and Kushtia -- of Khulna Division will participate in the swimming competition in sixteen men's and women's event of swimming. The events are 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.

On the following day on Sunday (January 22), the athletics competition of eight districts of Khulna division will be held at the same venue. The districts are Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, Narail, Jhenaidah, Magura, Kushtia and Chuadanga. 

Sixteen men's and women's events will be held in athletics. The events are 100m sprint, 200m sprint, 400m sprint, 800m sprint, 1500m sprint, long jump, high jump and shot put.
