Abahani blow Arambagh away 6-1 as Jewel Rana scores hat-trick

DHAKA, Aug 9, 2021 (BSS) - Midfielder Jewel Rana scored a brilliant
hat-trick as Abahani Limited, Dhaka blew Arambagh Krira Sangha away by
6-1 goals in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at
Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

   Apart from Jewel Rana's hat-trick with three goals, Nigerian
forward Sunday Chizoba, midfielders Faisal Ahmed Shitol and Sohel Rana
supported him with a lone goal each for Abahani in the one-sided
affairs. Uzbekistan midfielder Dilshod Nazirov scored the consolation
goal for Arambagh.

   In the day's proceeding, Jewel Rana opened an account scoring the
first goal for Abahani in the 19th minute while he doubled the lead
scoring his second goal for his team in the 22nd minute of the match.

   Sunday further widened the Abahani's margin scoring the third goal
in the 42nd minute while after the breather Shitol scored the fourth
goal for Abahani Limited in the 69th minute of the match.

   Dilshod Nazirov pulled one back for Arambagh scoring a lone goal in
the 79th minute while Mohammad Sohel Rana joined the Abahani's party
scoring the fifth goal in the 88th minute.

   Jewel Rana completed the winners' tally scoring his third and sixth
goal for Abahani Limited in the 90+1st minute of the match.

   The six times league champions Abahani Limited clearly dominated
the proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Arambagh were
totally-off-colored on the day.

   The day's win saw, the popular sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani
Limited again moved up to second position in the league table with 40
points from 20 matches while bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha
remained at their previous credit of five points playing 19 outings.

   In the first leg of league, Abahani Limited drubbed Arambagh Krira
Sangha by 4-0 goals.

   Earlier, in the first match of the day, Bashundhara Kings retained
title of the league with four matches in hand as the blanked
Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 2-0 goals held at the same
venue.

  Meanwhile, three matches will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) with Sheikh
Russel Krira Chakra take on Saif Sporting Club at BNS at 4 pm,
Mohammedan Sporting Club meet Brothers Union Club at Army Stadium at 4
pm and Chittagong Abahani Limited face Bangladesh Police Football Club
at BNS at 6 pm.
