5th day's results of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games

DHAKA, Jan 6, 2023 (BSS) - The Inter-upazila matches and inauguration ceremonies of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games continued on 5th day held today (Friday) at different districts across the country.

The inter-upazila Barisal phase, organized by Barisal District Sports Association (DSA), has begun at local Shaheed Abdur Rob Serniabat Stadium in Barisal district.

Barisal DSA's president and deputy commissioner Md. Jahangir Hossain formally inaugurated the games as the chief guest.

General Secretary of DSA Manjurul Ahsan Ferdous and other officials were present in the opening ceremony, preside by additional district commissioner (general) Md. Sohail Maruf.

Six upazilas of the district are taking part in football and kabaddi event on the first day. The inter-upazila Barisal phase games will continue till January 8.

In Satkhira district, the inter-upzila Satkhira phase of the games has started at Satkhira district Stadium.

Additional deputy commissioner of the district (general) and Satkhira DSA's vice president Kazi Arifur Rahman formally inaugurated the games as the chief guest.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Md. Sajib Khan, Bangladesh Olympic Association's (BOA) representative Wasif Ali, Association's Khulna Divisional representative Masudur Rahman Mallick, fourteen times gold medalist and fastest woman Shireen Akhtar, District Awami League's organizing secretary Kazi Akhtar Hossain and Satkhira's District Awami League women affairs secretary Shimun Shams, were among others, present in the opening ceremony.
 
More than five hundred participants from seven upazilas of the district are taking part in a total of eight events including football, volleyball, badminton, boxing, chess, gymnastics, shooting and table tennis. These inter-up district level games will continue till January 8.

In Gopalganj district venue, Tungipara's Prapti Biswas emerged top in girls' rapid bleach chess event. Gopalganj Sadar became champions in the boys' division chess team event. Debleen Adhikari and Tanveer Faisal Khan emerged top in the bleach event and rapid singles respectively.


In Bhola district, inter-upazila phase of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games concluded in Bhola.

Bhola DSA's general secretary Lipi Khanam, DSA's vice president Md. Faisal and DSA's joint general secretary Kazi Saiful Alam Babu, were among others, present at the prize distribution ceremony after the game held at the District Police Lines field.

Zahidul Islam of Bhola Sadar Upazila emerged champion in the boys' 100m race while Riyad Hossain of Lalmohan finished runner-up. In the 200m race, Md. Hassan of Lalmohan emerged champion while Md. Abdullah of Borhanuddin finished runner-up.In the 400m race, Md. Fazle Rabbi of Bhola Sadar emerged champion while Md. Faisal of Borhanuddin finished runner-up.

In 800m race event, Bibi Maryam of Bhola Sadar became the champion and Jasmine Akhter of Lalmohan finished runner-up, in 1500m race, Anjuman Ara Aishi of Bhola Sadar emerged champion while Bibi Maryam of the same upazila finished runner-up.

Tamanna Akhter of Bhola Sadar is the champion while Suma of Borhanuddin finished runner-up in girls' 100m race event, Rupbhan of Bhola Sadar emerged champion and Tamanna of Lalmohan finished runner-up in 200m race, Faria of Bhola Sadar emerged champion while Sumaiya finished runner-up in 400m race event, Bibi Maryam of Bhola Sadar emerged champion while Jasmine Akhter of Lalmohan finished runner-up in 800m race even and.

 Anjuman Ara of Bhola Sadar emerged champion while Bibi Mariom os the same upzila finished runner-up in 1500m race.

Besides, Sumaiya of Bhola Sadar became the champion in girls' high jump event while her teammate Faria finished runner-up. Riyad Hossain of Bhola Sadar emerged champions in boys' hight jump event while and Zahidul Islam of Borhanuddin Upazila finished runner-up.

Md Hassan of Bhola Sadar became the boys' event champion in the shot put event while Md Riaz of the Bhola Sadar finished runner-up. Sumaiya of Bhola Sadar emerged champion while Anamika Poddar of Lalmohan Upazila finished runner-up in women's shot put event.


In Kurigram district, Sadar Upazila's Rekha Akhter emerged top in the girls' 100 meters race. She also maintained her supremacy in 200m and 400m events.

Habibur Rahman of the same upazila emerged top in the boys' 100m race event.

Besides, Kamrul Hasan (Sadar) in the boys 800m event, Minhajul Islam (Sadar) in high jump, Ashraful Alam (Rajarhat) in long jump and triple jump, Digant Kumar Das (Sadar) in discus throw and Shahanur Rahman (Sadar) in iron shot put emerged champion in their respective events.

In the girls' event, Rekha Akhtar (Sadar) in high jump, Swapna Rani (Sadar) in long jump and triple jump, Maya Akhtar (Sadar) in shot put and Jasmin Akhtar of the same upazila emerged champion in their respective events.

In Kushtia district, Bangladesh Awami League's joint general secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, MP, inaugurated the inter-upazila Kushtia phase competition of the games at Kushtia District Stadium, presided by Kushtia's deputy commissioner and DSA's president Mohammad Saidul Islam.

In Thakurgaon district, Ashraf Rahman of Sadar Upazila emerged champion while Sanjid Hasan of Pirganj finished runners-up in boys' table tennis event.
 
In the girls' event, Javeen Zaman of Tarunini EKK Sadar emerged top while Hafcha Rahman Swarna of Ranishankail finished second position.

In Gaibandha district, Sadar Upazila became the champion after defeating Gobindganj Upazila by 4-2 goals in tie breaker in the boys' football event held at Gaibandha Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium.

It Cox's Bazar district, Afra Anjumon of Sadar Upazila emerged champion in Kumi category of karate while Sananda Pal of Sadar Upazila finished runner-up. Nirjana Bara of Ramu emerged champion in 45 kg kumi and Adri Saha of Sadar Upazila finished runners-up.

Besides, Shreyasi Pal of Sadar Upazila in 50 kg weight category, Nanda Chowdhury of Sadar in 55 kg, Labanya Bhattracharya in 61 kg weight category and Barsha Chowdhury in 68 kg emerged champion in their respective events.


In the boys' kumi 45 kg weight category, Nilop of Ramu emerged top while Muhammad Sajeeb of Teknaf finished second position. Shahed Jan Abhi became first and Biswajit Sharma finished second position in 50kg weight category. In the 55kg event, Dwip De Joy emerged top and Saiful Amin finished second position. In the 60 kg weight category, Shubhra Biswas emerged first while Tachin Alam finished second position.

In 67 kg weight category, Aritra Chakrabarty emerged top and Rajin Huda Mishu finished the second spot. Mang Chingla emerged first in 75 kg and Anabil Pal finished second position.
 
In Narail district, Narail Sadar Upazila champion after defeating Lohagara upazila in Narail volleyball competition. In the boys' wrestling 45 kg weight category, Rabi became the champion and Humayun finished runner-up. In the boys' wrestling 48 kg event, Shravan emerged champion while Abdullah finished runner-up. Aamir Hussain emerged champion while Tanveer finished runner-up in boys' wrestling 51 kg weight category.

 In the 55 kg weight category, Rakib became the champion and Shaheen finished runner-up. Habibullah emerged champion while Naeem finished runner-up in the wrestling 60 kg weight category. In wrestling 65 kg weight catagory, Rakib became the champion and Sajib finished runner-up. Salman emerged champion while Ripon finished runner-up in 71 kg weight category.

While in the girls' wrestling event, Sohagi emerged champion while Soheli finished runner-up in 36 kg weight category. Semonto emerged champion while and Prema finished runner-up in the 43 kg event. In the 46 kg event, Suraiya emerged champion while Pooja finished runner-up. Rimpa became the champion while Sifta finished runner-up in the girls' 49 kg event. Baisakhi emerged champion while Aisha finished runner-up in 53 kg weight category. Anna became champion while Arpita finished runner-up in 57 kg weight category. Ruma became the champion while Pinky finished runner-up in the girls' 61 kg weight category.

In Nilphamari district, Sadar Upazila emerged champion in both boys' and girls' categories in swimming. In the boys team, Shyamal Chandra Roy of Sadar Upazila defeated Risad Munna of Syedpur Upazila to emerge champion while Riya Moni of Nilphamari Sadar upazila defeated Subarna Rani Roy of Syedpur upazila in the girls event.

In Joypurhat district, Sadar Upazila boys' and Panchbibi Upazila girls' teams won the badminton events. Sadar Upazila boys' team beat Panchbibi Upazila by 3-0 set in the badminton final while Panchbibi Upazila girls' team defeated Akkelpur Upazila by 2-1 sets in the girls' final match.
