2nd day's results of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games

DHAKA, Jan 3, 2023 (BSS) - The inauguration ceremony and matches of the Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games 2023 also held today (Tuesday) at different districts across the country after the formal upazila phase inauguration on Monday last. 

Khulna City Corporation's Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek inaugurated the Youth Games in Khulna. Kurigram district's Deputy Commissioner Md. Saidul Arif inaugurated the Games in Kurigram and Narsingdi district's Deputy Commissioner Abu Nayeem Mohammad Maruf Khan inaugurated the Games in Narsingdi district.

Cox's Bazar district's Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shaheen Imran inaugurated the Youth Games in Cox's Bazar, Cox's Bazar Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahid Iqbal presided over the inauguration ceremony.
 
Jaseem Uddin, General Secretary of Cox's Bazar District Sports Association, was present as a special guest in the opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, Muktagachha upazila defeated Bhaluka upazila by 5-4 goals in penalty shootout in inter-upazila football (youth) held in Mymensingh. 

On the same day, Gouripur Upazila beat Sadar Upazila by 3-0 goals. 

The semifinals of youth division volleyball were held in Kurigram with Nageshwari upazila defeated Ulipur by 2-1 set to reach the final. On the same day, Bhurungamari upazila defeated Roumari upazila by 2-1 set to reach the final.
 
Kurigram Sadar beat Nageshwari by 3-0 goals in the football semi-final. In the other semi-final, Bhurungamari upazila defeated Roumari upazila by 1-0 goal.

Sadar Upazila emerged champions while Taltali finished runners-up in the girls' football final held in Barguna district. Barguna Sadar Upazila emerged champions beating Patharghata Upazila by 1-0 in the boys' group final.

Thakurgaon district's Deputy Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the competition in Thakurgaon. Shahnaz of Pirganj upazila won the first place in 800 meters race (girls') while Lipa Monalisa of Thakurgaon Sadar finished second position.

While Fahim Islam of Thakurgaon Sadar became first in the 800m race (boys) and Tanjid Ahmed Shubo of Haripur finished second position.

Khatibul of Haripur emerged first in high jump boys' category while Thakurgaon Sadar's Md. Rakib finished the second position. Ritika Rani Roy of Thakurgaon Sadar emerged top in high jump girls' category while Renu Rani Roy Tumba of Pirganj finished the second position. Md Fahim of Thakurgaon Sadar emerged first in the 1500 meter race boys' category while Abdus Salam of Baliadangi finished second position. Kavita Pahan of Ranishkail upazila emerged top in the 1500 race in girls' category while Habiba Akter of Thakargaon Sadar finished the second position.

Al Amin Islam of Thakurgaon Sadar topped in the 200m race in boys' category while Rimon Kawsar of Baliadangi finished second position.
Sumita Rani of Ranishkail Upazila emerged top in the 200m race in the girls' category while Rikta Akhter of Thakurgaon Sadar finished second position.

Raihan of Thakurgaon sadar became the first in 100 meters race while Meem Hasan of Haripur finished second position.

Rituparna Sen of Thakurgaon Sadar became the first in the girls' 100m race while Nishitha Sheikh finished second position.
 
Nilphamari Sadar Upazila Kabaddi team emerged champions in both boys and girls' category of in inter-upazila level kabaddi competition held at Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium in Nilphamari district.

Sadar Upazila boys' kabaddi team beat Domar Upazila team by 53-24 points while Sadar Upazila girls' kabaddi team won the championship by defeating Domar Upazila Taruni Kabaddi team by 41-31 points.

Purnata Chakma of Longadu Upazila emerged champions in girls' singles event in chess competition held in Rangamati district. Pinky Rani of Rangamati Sadar finished runner-up in this event.

Sahan Chakma of Rajasthani Upazila emerged champion in the boys' singles event while Kailash Chakma of Rangmati Sadar finished the runner-up.
Rangamati Sadar emerged team event youth champions while Longadu Upazila finished runners-up. 

Kaptai Upazila and Rangamati Sadar finished runners-up in the girls' team event.
 
Kabirhat upazila defeated Senbagh by 1-0 goal, Noakhali Sadar defeated Companyganj by 2-0 goals and Sonaimuri defeated Moakhali district by 1-0 goals in the girls' category football held in Noakhali district.

Judo event was also held in Noakhali district. In the 36 kg event, Tajrun Maryam Tarisha of Sadar Upazila emerged first and Smriti of Companyganj Upazila finished second position.
 
In the Judo Youth-40kg event, Zuairia Taiyeba of Senbagh emerged first and Nadia Nasreen of Sadar Upazila finished second position.
 
Sabiha Jahan of Sadar Upazila and Anjum Islam of Companyganj finished second in the -44 kg boys' event.

Safia Jarin Subha of Sadar Upazila and Jannatul Muntaha of Subarnachar finished the second position in the -48 kg boys' event. 

In the -52 kg event, Swarna of Sadar Upazila emerged first while Sufian of Companyganj finished second position. In the +57 boys' event, Kaniz Faria of Sadar Upazila finished and Mifta of Companyganj Upazila finished second position. Mohammad Muntashir of Sadar Upazila emerged first in the judo boys' event and JBM Taslim of Companyganj Upazila finished the second position.

In the -50 kg weight category, Arefin Jobair of Sadar Upazila emerged top while Mabruk Rahman of Companyganj finished the second position.

Shaukat Ali of Sadar Upazila bagged the top spot in -55 kg. In -60 kg, Muharram Ali of Sadar Upazila emerged first while Al Wasiful Alam of Companyganj finished the second position. 

In the -66 kg, Anach Mahmud Talha of Sadar Upazila emerged top while Md. Sameer of Senbagh finished the second position. In the -73 kg, Mohammad Arafat of Sadar Upazila emerged top while Kazi Fahimul Haque of Begumganj finished the second position.
 
In the football final match held in Joypurhat district, Pachambibi Upazila girls' emerged champions beating Akkelpur Upazila Taruni team by 2-0 goals in the final while Joypurhat Sadar Upazila boys' team emerged champions defeating Panchbibi Upazila boys' team by 2-1 goals in the final.

Meanwhile, Kamalnagar Upazila Sports Association won the match against Raipur Upazila Sports Association in the shootout held in Lakshipur district.

In the kabaddi competition, Raipur got 21 points and Kamalnagar secured 28 points while Ramgatti got 28 points and Sadar bagged 35 points.
