RANGAMATI, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - The first-ever national-level '1st National Adventure Camp-2026' began today at Raingkhyaing Island in Kaptai with the participation of 250 scouts from all 64 districts.

Bangladesh Scouts organized the five-day camp, which was inaugurated by Rangamati Additional District Commissioner (Education and ICT) Alamgir Hossain as the chief guest this afternoon.

Bangladesh Scouts Joint Executive Director AHM Muhsinul Islam chaired the inaugural ceremony, while Bangladesh Television news presenter Mehenaz Munni conducted it.

In his speech, Alamgir Hossain said scouting plays an important role in developing humanitarian values irrespective of religion and race.

He also highlighted the crucial role of scouts in responding to natural disasters and wished the camp every success.

The organizers said the participants include Girls in Scouts, Rover Scouts, Girls in Rover Scouts and adult leaders from all 64 districts.

The camp aims to familiarize the participants with adventure, nature, culture and heritage while developing their leadership, teamwork and self-reliance skills.

Scouts attending the camp said they joined the event to become accustomed to nature and learn how to overcome challenges in adverse conditions.

Regional Deputy Commissioner (Naval Region) and Vice-Principal of Kaptai Navy School and College M Jahangir Alam is overseeing the central management of the camp.

The camp will continue until August 30.

Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Rayhanul Islam, Kaptai Upazila Secondary Education Officer Syed Mahmud Hasan, former National Deputy Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts Ziaul Huda Himel, Bangladesh Scouts Programme Director Mst Mahfuza Parvin, among others, attended the inaugural ceremony.
