DHAKA, Aug 22, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 482 people in the last 24 hours in separate drives across the capital and filed 32 cases.

According to a DMP press release today, the arrests were made during operations in different police station areas of the capital.

Of them, 44 were arrested in Ramna Thana area, 44 in Lalbagh Thana area, 55 in Wari Thana area, 57 in Motijheel Thana area, 56 in Tejgaon Thana area, 119 in Mirpur Thana area, 39 in Gulshan Thana area, 59 in Uttara Thana area and nine by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operation, police recovered one gold locket, fake currency notes worth Tk 16,000, nine mobile phones, three laptops, two CPUs, 55 SIM cards, Tk 268,500 in cash, 13,914 yaba tablets, 913 grams of heroin and 32 kilograms of cannabis.

Police said legal proceedings against them are underway.
