DHAKA, Aug 21, 2026 (BSS) - Uttara West, Mohammadpur and Hazaribagh Police of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 76 people involved in various criminal activities during a special operation conducted across the three  police stations of the city. 

According to DMP's media and public relations division press release issued here today, the arrests were made during separate raids carried out in different areas during the last 24 hours.

It said they were held in connection with regular criminal cases, outstanding arrest warrants and other criminal activities. 

The DMP said Uttara West Police Station conducted a special drive in several crime-prone areas and arrested 30 people for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

Mohammadpur Police carried out a similar special drive in various crime-prone areas and arrested 31 people, it said.

Besides, Hazaribagh Police also conducted anti-crime campaigns in different areas and netted 15 suspected criminals, the DMP said, adding, "Legal procedures are underway against them."
