DHAKA, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 83 people in separate operations in Uttara West, Turag and Gulshan areas of the capital over the past 24 hours.

Of the total, Gulshan police arrested 53 people from two spa centres on Wednesday night for alleged involvement in "immoral activities."

Police conducted raids between around 8:00pm and 9:30pm at Gulshan One Salon on Road 24 and Hot Stone Spa on Road 99. A total of 24 men and 29 women were arrested during the operations.

Legal proceedings against those arrested from the two establishments are underway.

They were subsequently sent to court.

In separate drives, 30 people were arrested by Uttara West and Turag police for their alleged involvement in various offences, according to a press release.

Uttara West police arrested 20 people, including 19 adults and a child in conflict with the law, from different crime-prone areas under the station's jurisdiction. Turag police arrested another 10 people during separate operations.

Police said those arrested included regular accused, warrant-listed suspects and people allegedly involved in various offences.
