DHAKA, August 15, 2026 (BSS) - Film screenings have begun at the auditoriums of district Shilpakala Academies across the country, including Dhaka today.

Three films were screened at the Nattyashala auditorium as part of a special screening organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and managed by its Theatre and Film Department.

Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, adviser for Policy and Strategy the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, attended the inaugural session as the chief guest.

He said the initiative that has begun will soon lead to regular paid film screenings at the halls of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and district Shilpakala Academies in Dhaka and, gradually, across the country.

The films screened today were The University of Chankharpul, directed by Akash Hossain; Mastul, directed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman; and Roid, directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon.
