DHAKA, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 44 people in separate special operations in the Uttara West and Hazaribagh areas in the capital.

According to a press release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), of those arrested, 30 were detained by Uttara West Police and 14 by Hazaribagh Police during the past 24 hours.

Police said the operations were conducted in several crime-prone areas under the two police stations as part of efforts to prevent crime and maintain public security.

Police said those detained include accused in regular and warrant cases, as well as people allegedly involved in various offences.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.
