DHAKA, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 44 people in separate special drives conducted in the Mirpur Model and Kalabagan police station areas of the capital over the past 24 hours.

Of the total, 37 were arrested by Mirpur Model Police during special operations in various crime-prone areas under the police station, said a DMP press release.

Meanwhile, Kalabagan Police arrested seven people during similar special drives in different crime-prone areas under its jurisdiction.

The arrested individuals include regular accused, warrant-listed suspects and people allegedly involved in various offences.

Police said the arrested persons have been sent to the appropriate court for legal proceedings.

The special drives are part of ongoing efforts by Dhaka Metropolitan Police to curb crime and maintain law and order in the capital.
