DHAKA, Aug 14, 2026 (BSS)- BNP leader and lawmaker of Dhaka-2 constituency Aman Ullah Aman has called for building a drug-free and self-reliant Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
He made the call yesterday afternoon while inaugurating new building of Itabhara Post Office at Hazratpur in Keraniganj, Dhaka.
Urging all to unite to make drug-free society, increase social prosperity and undertake welfare-oriented activities, he said, the family is a small component of the state. The state comprises all the families of Bangladesh. If families are ruined, the state will fail and there will be no good state.”
He further said a drug addict can destroy a family and society as well. Therefore, neighbours and guardians must play a leading role in bringing drug addicts back to the right path and creating awareness in society.
He said if every family takes a small initiative and effort, poverty will be eradicated from the country quickly and Bangladesh will become self-reliant.
Deputy Postmaster General of Dhaka Atia Sultana, Dhaka District BNP Organising Secretary Barrister Irfan Ibn Aman Omi and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Umar Faruk were present at the programme.
