DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 53 people for their alleged involvement in various offences during a 24-hour operation conducted across crime-prone areas under its Tejgaon division.

According to a DMP press release, regular anti-crime drives were conducted in different areas over the past 24 hours, leading to the arrests.

Of the 53 arrested, 8 were picked up by Tejgaon Police Station, 5 by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, 25 by Mohammadpur Police Station, 7 by Adabor Police Station, 3 by Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station and 5 by Hatirjheel Police Station.

Police said the detainees were arrested in connection with various offences detected during the operations.

The arrested persons have been sent to the court for legal proceedings.
