DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has honoured its best-performing units and officers for their outstanding contributions to maintaining law and order, controlling crime and ensuring public safety in the capital during July 2026.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bangladesh Md Ali Hossain Fakir and DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed handed over the awards at the DMP's monthly crime review meeting held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh today. 

Among the DMP's crime divisions, Mirpur Division was adjudged the best for July, according to a press release. 

Mirpur Police Station secured first place among police stations, followed by Uttara-West Police Station in second and Badda Police Station in third.

Among Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), Demra Zone ACP Md Shamim Hossain secured first place, while Mohammadpur Zone ACP Md Abdullah Al Mamun ranked second.

In the Sub-Inspector (SI) category, Pallabi Police Station's SI Md Saiful Islam secured first place. SI Debashish Mondal of Vatara Police Station came second, while SI Amit Kumar Biswas of Paltan Model Police Station secured third place.

Among Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), Jatrabari Police Station's ASI Nazmul Islam ranked first, followed by Mohammadpur Police Station's ASI Nader Ali.

The Detective Branch's Wari Division was adjudged the best-performing unit. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Fazlul Karim, of the Wari Zonal Team was named the best team leader.

In the Traffic Division, Traffic-Wari was recognised as the best-performing unit. 

Mirpur Traffic Zone Sergeant Md Shamsuddin Sarker secured first place among the best traffic sergeants, while Jatrabari Traffic Zone Sergeant Md Shahriar Khan ranked second.

Senior police officials of the Police Headquarters and DMP were present.
