DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 613,921 people have received legal advice services at government expense through the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO), according to a report published on the website of the organization. 

The report contains detailed information on legal aid provided from 2009 through July 2026.

According to the report, during this period, government-funded legal assistance was provided to 27,580 people through the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, 351,253 people through Legal Aid Offices in all 64 districts, and 22,327 people through the Labour Legal Aid Cells in Dhaka and Chattogram.

In addition, 212,520 people received legal advice through the National Legal Aid Helpline Call Centre (toll-free 16699), while 241 people received legal advice through the online platform (Facebook Messenger).

These services are being provided at government expense under the Legal Aid Services Act to financially disadvantaged and indigent people seeking justice in the country.

The activities of the National Legal Aid Services Organization are conducted under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
