DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested two activists of activity banned Awami League (AL), and its affiliated organisations in separate drives in Mirpur Model Police Station area on Wednesday night.

The arrested are Md Zahir Hawladar, 54, joint secretary of the Awami League’s Central Sub-Committee on Forest and Environment, and Md Ibn Al Selim, 32, an activist of an affiliated organisation.

Police said Zahir was arrested from Shah Ali bagh around 9:45pm, while Selim was arrested from Love Road around 9:30pm.

They were later produced before a court.
