DHAKA, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - The Basic Assistance and Protection Course for Responders-3 (BAPCOR-3), organised by the Bangladesh National Authority for the Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC), concluded here today.

The three-day course, held from August 9 to 11, aimed to enhance the capabilities of personnel involved in rescue operations and disaster management in the event of chemical disasters or accidents, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate release tonight.

A total of 58 participants from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, the Armed Forces, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Bangladesh Police, and Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force took part in the training.

During the course, participants received theoretical and practical training on Bangladesh's laws and regulations related to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), identification of chemical warfare agents, use of rescue equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency rescue operations during chemical disasters or accidents, and medical management of casualties, the release said.

BNACWC Member Secretary and Director General of the Directorate of Civil and Military Liaison at the Armed Forces Division Commodore Md Monir Uddin Mallik attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

He later distributed certificates among the participants.

The BNACWC regularly organises the BAPCOR to strengthen the capabilities of relevant stakeholders in responding effectively to chemical emergencies, the release added.
