DHAKA, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,908 cases against traffic law violators during the last 24 hours in the capital.

During the drives, a total of 696 vehicles were dumped and 367 vehicles were towed, according to a DMP press release issued here today.
 
It said that the traffic division conducted different drives on Monday (August 10) in various areas of the capital.

According to DMP media and public relations division, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 156 cases against 10 buses, one truck, five covered vans, 114 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 37 motorcycles.

In addition, the Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 216 cases against 37 buses, 29 trucks, 15 covered vans, 27 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 54 motorcycles while the Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 277 cases against 11 buses, one truck, 14 covered vans, 58 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 135 motorcycles, it said.

Meanwhile, the Traffic-Wari Division filed 216 cases against 37 buses, 29 trucks, 15 covered vans, 27 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 54 motorcycles while the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 192 cases against 24 buses, four trucks, eight covered vans, 36 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 75 motorcycles.

Apart from this, the DMP release said Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 453 cases against 40 buses, 28 trucks, 43 covered vans, 48 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 180 motorcycles while the Traffic-Uttara Division filed 138 cases against 28 buses, nine trucks, seven covered vans, 36 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 87 motorcycles.

Besides, the Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 219 cases against 34 buses, two trucks, eight covered vans, 31 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 37 motorcycles, the release added.

It further said that the DMP's traffic enforcement drives would continue across the capital to ensure traffic discipline.
