Doa, Milad held seeking eternal peace of Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar

DHAKA, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS)  - Acting Speaker of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal, MP, today attended a dua and milad mahfil arranged by the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat seeking eternal peace of departed soul of former acting President and Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar.

The dua and milad mahfil was held after Zuhr prayers at the mosque of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.  The prayers began with recitation from the Holy Quran, said a press release of parliament secretariat.

During the dua and munajat, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, as well as for the departed souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, valiant freedom fighters and those who sacrificed their lives at different times during the country’s democratic movements.

Special prayers were also offered for the President, Prime Minister, Acting Speaker, members of the Cabinet, Chief Whip and whips, members of parliament, and for peace, progress, prosperity and overall welfare of the country and its people.

Prayers were also offered for the successful functioning of the Jatiya Sangsad and for peace, unity and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.

Secretary of the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, officials and employees of the Secretariat and other distinguished personalities attended the dua and milad mahfil.
