DHAKA, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 915 cases against vehicles emitting excessive black smoke during drives across the capital in July.

According to a DMP issued press release, the cases were filed to curb air pollution and prevent excessive black smoke emissions from vehicles.

Of the cases, 354 were filed by Traffic Motijheel Division, 172 by Wari, 131 by Tejgaon, 128 by Uttara, 56 by Gulshan, 36 by Mirpur, 34 by Ramna and four by Lalbagh.

The DMP said such drives and legal action against smoke-emitting vehicles will continue to help control environmental pollution.
