GAIBANDHA, Aug 8, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad today said the government has taken projects to tackle riverbank erosion.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a public gathering held at the premises of Kabilpur Government Primary School in Uria Union of Fulchhari upazila in Gaibandha.

The state minister said every projects of the water resources ministry will be implemented properly.

Highlighting various other development initiatives of the current government, he said the BNP government has already started distributing Family Cards and Farmer Cards. 

Gaibandha-5 constituency Member of Parliament Abdul Wares, Deputy Commissioner of Gaibandha Masudur Rahman Molla, Executive Engineer of the Gaibandha Water Development Board Md. Shariful Islam, General Secretary of Fulchhari Upazila BNP Abdus Salam were present, among others.

Earlier, the state minister visited river erosion-affected areas in Gaibandha Sadar, Fulchhari and Sundarganj upazilas.
