DHAKA, Aug 7, 2026 (BSS) - Biman Bangladesh Airlines' Toronto-Rome-Dhaka flight BG306 has been delayed after the aircraft developed a technical fault at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Italy, while its Dhaka-Rome-Toronto flight BG305 will also face a delay.
The national flag carrier said in a press release today that the technical fault was detected while operating flight BG306 and necessary inspections and repair work were underway to ensure passenger safety and security.
"BG306 will depart Rome for Dhaka after the technical fault is fully rectified and all required safety inspections are completed," Biman said.
As BG305 (Dhaka-Rome-Toronto) is scheduled to be operated by the same aircraft, its departure has also been rescheduled.
The new departure time for BG305 has been set for 1:00 pm on August 8. Passengers have been requested to report to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by 9:00 am.
Biman said hotel accommodation, meals and other necessary assistance have been arranged for passengers of BG306 currently stranded in Rome.
The updated departure schedule for BG306 will be announced in due course, it added.

The national flag carrier expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the unexpected delay and thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation.
