DHAKA, Aug 06, 2026, (BSS) - Six more people have died of suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

The release said 733 suspected measles cases were reported during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of suspected cases to 133,638 between March 15 and Aug 6.

During the period, 85 measles cases were laboratory confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 16,740.

From March 15 to Aug 6, a total of 115,879 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, while 111,587 recovered and were discharged during the same period.

Six people died of suspected measles in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths among children from suspected measles to 764 between March 15 and Aug 6.

No death from confirmed measles was reported in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles has stood at 96.
