DHAKA, Aug 3, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh has intensified efforts to expand the 
participation of its skilled workforce in Japan's labour market as the two 
countries held a human resource matching seminar in Shizuoka to strengthen 
bilateral cooperation in employment and skills development.

The Bangladesh-Japan Human Resource Matching Seminar was held today at the 
Granship Convention Center in Shizuoka, jointly organised by the Bangladesh 
Embassy in Japan and the Japan International Trainee and Skilled Worker 
Cooperation Organization (JITCO).

Speaking at the inaugural session, Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md Daud Ali 
said Bangladesh and Japan could derive mutual benefits by linking Japan's 
growing industrial demand for skilled workers with Bangladesh's demographic 
dividend.

He said Bangladeshi youths are being equipped with modern technical training 
to meet the requirements of Japanese industries.

The ambassador said more than 250 training centres across Bangladesh are 
currently providing Japanese language training to a large number of young 
people.

He also said Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) evaluation examinations are being 
conducted regularly in seven categories in Bangladesh, while more than 12,000 
Bangladeshis have travelled to Japan under employment and other categories 
over the past six months.

JITCO President Shinji Ogawa, in his welcome remarks, praised Bangladeshi 
workers for their diligence, honesty and ability to adapt quickly to Japanese 
culture.

He said Bangladeshi technical interns and Specified Skilled Workers (SSW) are 
performing with distinction in various sectors across Japan and noted that 
the pass rate of Bangladeshi candidates in Japanese language and skills 
examinations has increased significantly in recent years.

Counsellor (Labour Wing) at the Bangladesh Embassy Md Zainal Abedin delivered 
a presentation highlighting the measures taken by the Bangladesh government 
to supply skilled workers to Japan in line with the country's labour market 
demand.

He also highlighted the growing interest among Japanese companies in 
recruiting Bangladeshi workers and underscored the expanding scope for 
cooperation in human resource development and employment.

Representatives of Japanese supervising organisations, recruiting companies 
and members of the visiting Bangladeshi delegation attended the seminar and 
networking event.
