DHAKA, Aug 2, 2026 (BSS) - Additional Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Md. Ziaul Haque has been assigned the additional responsibility of Chairman of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).

He will discharge the duties of BPC Chairman alongside his current responsibilities until further notice.

The information was disclosed in an office order issued today by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power and Mineral Resources.

According to the order, the additional responsibility has been entrusted to Md. Ziaul Haque to ensure the smooth functioning of the official activities of the BPC.

The order further stated that he will continue to serve in the role until a fresh directive is issued.

The office order was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Sabrina Afrin Mustafa.

Copies of the order have been sent to the Office of the Chairman of BPC, the Chairman of Petrobangla, relevant officials of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division and the concerned branches of the ministry for necessary action.
