DHAKA, Aug 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 431 people in separate drives across the capital and filed 70 cases on Saturday.
According to a DMP press release issued on Sunday, among those arrested, 39 were from Ramna Division, 24 from Lalbagh, 45 from Wari, 40 from Motijheel, 79 from Tejgaon, 101 from Mirpur, 44 from Gulshan, 47 from Uttara, nine by the Detective Branch (DB), and three by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.
During the operations, police recovered one foreign-made pistol, two empty magazines, 230 grams of cannabis, 14,142 yaba tablets, 156 grams of heroin, 31 mobile phones, a private car, an old camera, and rescued one victim.
The arrests were made during routine operations conducted in different police station areas of the capital, including drives against narcotics-related offences.
Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway, the DMP said.
