DHAKA, July 31, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Md Abdus Salam has announced a seven-day special 'crash program' in Kamrangirchar to control dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases and to ensure proper waste management.
He made the announcement today after Jumma prayers at a mosque adjacent to Kamrangirchar Eidgah ground.
The DSCC administrator said that during the next seven days, special crash program activities will be carried out in Kamrangirchar, including daily mosquito eradication drives.
He urged people to remain vigilant to prevent water stagnation in homes, yards, and drains.
Highlighting development initiatives, he noted that the Inner Circular Road project is being implemented to upgrade Kamrangirchar Road into eight lanes. "Once completed, it will improve communication and transform the overall landscape of Kamrangirchar," he noted.
He urged residents to refrain from dumping garbage and polythene into the old Buriganga river and to play an active role in preventing encroachment.
He also called for social resistance against drugs, extortion, and illegal occupation, stressing the importance of keeping roads, drains, and playgrounds free from encroachment and clean.
