DHAKA, July 31, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 433 people in a series of anti-crime operations conducted across the capital over the past 24 hours, while 27 cases were filed during the same period.

According to a DMP press release, the arrests included 122 by Mirpur Division, 96 by Motijheel Division, 49 by Uttara Division, 38 each by Tejgaon and Gulshan divisions, 36 by Wari Division, 27 by Ramna Division, 24 by Lalbagh Division, and three by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the drives, police recovered 24.1 kilograms of cannabis, 940 yaba tablets, 30 mobile phones, three knives, an electric shock device, three abandoned bullets, a three-wheeler (Mishuk), a motorcycle, and also rescued one victim.

The suspects were arrested during operations in different police station areas of the capital, mainly on charges related to narcotics and other criminal offences.

Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway.
