CHATTOGRAM, July 30, 2026 (BSS): Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) today launched an operation to evict unlawful encroachments in Jhautala areas alongside Momin Road in the city.
During this operation, seven individuals were penalized for obstructing roads and drains through their encroachments. The mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya of the Chattogram City Corporation, conducted the drive.
CCC sources said, the drive found that a number of individuals in Jhautala area were unlawfully occupying roads and drains, hindering pedestrian movement by placing goods in these areas.
A legal case was lodged against the seven individuals and fined them TK 21,000. Chaiti Sarvabidya stated that the CCC will continue to conduct such operations regularly to free the roads, footpaths, and drains of the city from illegal occupation.
She further emphasized that stringent measures will be taken against illegal encroachments to facilitate normal movement of the passerby within the city and to address water logging problem .
