DHAKA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Police Headquarters has instructed field-level police officers to ensure fair investigations of all cases and take effective steps to bring criminals to justice.

The directive was issued at the monthly crime review meeting for June 2026, held virtually at Police Headquarters on Wednesday, according to a press release.

Additional Inspector General of Police (Crime and Operations) Khandkar Rafiqul Islam chaired the meeting, which was attended virtually by officers from metropolitan police units, Special Branch (SB), Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Tourist Police, Highway Police, Armed Police Battalion (APBN), Railway Police, police ranges and districts.

Khandkar Rafiqul Islam urged all concerned to remain vigilant to prevent any rise in crime. He directed police officers to investigate cases involving murder, rape, robbery and abduction thoroughly and complete the investigations promptly.

The meeting reviewed the overall crime situation, including major incidents reported in June. It also examined cases of robbery, dacoity, murder, rape and abduction, along with pending arrest warrants, investigation and trial progress, conviction rates and related issues.
